HEALTHY
Dear Church Family,
As we begin this new year together, we are excited to announce the launch of our 21-Day Fast, starting January 13th. The theme for this fast is "Healthy" – a call to focus on our spiritual, emotional, physical, financial and mental health.
In the Bible, fasting is a powerful practice that draws us closer to God, sharpening our focus and deepening our relationship with Him. As we embark on this fast, we want to take a holistic approach—recognizing that true health comes when we care for our bodies, minds, and spirits in alignment with God's purpose for our lives.
Spiritual Health
Fasting is a time to draw near to God, to seek His presence in a deeper way, and to reset our priorities. This fast is an opportunity for spiritual renewal, allowing us to lay aside distractions and pursue God through prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word. We will set aside intentional time each day to pray for growth in our relationship with Christ and to be open to His leading in the year ahead.
Emotional Health
Many of us carry emotional burdens that can weigh us down. During this fast, let’s ask God to help us heal from past hurts, forgive those who have wronged us, and release any anxiety or stress we are carrying. Emotional health is deeply connected to our well-being, and we believe God wants to bring restoration to our hearts and minds. We will focus on cultivating peace, joy, and emotional resilience as we surrender our emotions to God.
Physical Health
Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and God desires for us to honor Him by taking care of our physical health. Whether you choose to fast from food, certain habits, or anything that may be hindering your physical well-being, this is an opportunity to reset and refocus on honoring God with the body He has given us. We believe God will give strength as we commit to healthier choices and prioritize physical well-being.
Financial Health
God desires for us to be good stewards of the resources He has entrusted to us. During this fast, we are also challenging ourselves to examine our financial health. This is a time to reflect on our spending habits, cultivate a spirit of generosity, and realign our finances with God’s priorities. Whether you feel led to fast from certain luxuries or re-evaluate your approach to giving and budgeting, this is a moment to seek God’s guidance on how to use our financial resources in a way that honors Him. We believe that when we align our finances with God’s Kingdom purposes, He will bless and multiply our efforts.
Mental Health
As we take a break from the distractions and busyness of life, we also focus on mental clarity and peace. Our minds can easily become overwhelmed with worry, fear, and negativity, but through this fast, we trust that God will renew our minds, helping us to think in alignment with His truth. We will engage in practices that help us renew our minds through scripture, journaling, and thoughtful reflection.
Fasting is a personal journey, and we encourage each of you to seek God and determine what He is leading you to fast from during this time. Whether you choose a traditional fast (food), a partial fast, or a fast from media, activities, or habits, the goal is to dedicate these 21 days to seeking God’s guidance for every area of our lives.
Each day, we will provide devotionals, prayer points, and resources to guide you throughout the fast. We also invite you to join us for virtual corporate prayer on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM, as we unite in seeking God’s will for our church, our families, and our individual lives.
We are trusting God for breakthroughs in every area of our lives as we commit to this fast together. This is a time to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us, bringing healing, renewal, and transformation.
Thank you for joining us in this step of faith. Let’s journey together, supporting and encouraging one another as we grow healthier in every area of our lives, for God’s glory.
With love and anticipation,
Pastor Scott Free
